Every day in Detroit and across Michigan, hundreds of children are placed into foster care due to abuse, neglect, incarceration, addiction, or poverty. These children face abrupt separation from family, familiar environments, and emotional security.
The statistics are sobering:
- Nearly 11,000 children are in Michigan’s foster care system at any given time.
- Many bounce between multiple homes before age 18.
- Only about 50% of foster youth graduate high school, and fewer go on to college.
- Aging out of foster care without a permanent family often leads to homelessness, incarceration, or unemployment.
Foster families themselves also face challenges lack of resources, emotional burnout, and limited support from systems not designed to uplift.

Because every child deserves the chance to thrive—not just survive. Foster the Future is rooted in the belief that we don’t just need more homes, we need healing environments, educational stability, and community support for both kids and the caregivers who open their doors.

In partnership with Feed the Needy with a Song, we direct funding and support to:
- Foster care agencies that provide wraparound services
- Nonprofits that deliver trauma-informed counseling, tutoring, and mentorship
- Programs that train and sustain foster parents
- Community efforts that reunite and strengthen biological families when possible
- Resources that support teens aging out of care with housing, jobs, and life skills
Through Foster The Music Platform, artists can take action by choosing “Foster the Future” as their cause at registration.

When an artist performs or sells music, merchandise, or artwork through the platform, 25% of all proceeds are donated to this cause. That means:
